Mr. DePauw specializes in appellate practice and complex litigation support.

He has successfully argued numerous cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and has obtained peremptory relief from the Michigan Supreme Court. Mr. DePauw also provides litigation support for the firm’s most complex civil cases, including preparing and arguing dispositive motions in trial courts, as well as trial preparation and strategy to ensure the preservation of issues for appeal. Mr. DePauw has sits on the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Amicus Committee, which is responsible for ensuring the quality of the amicus briefs as well as their adherence to positions consistent with the MDTC perspective.

Outside of work, Mr. DePauw enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Mr. DePauw is an avid golfer and musician, playing drums, guitar, and bass. You may even see Mr. DePauw on the weekend playing with his band at one of the many live music venues in Detroit, Ferndale, or Royal Oak. Mr. DePauw lives in Madison Heights, Michigan with his fiancé, Sydney, and dog, Winston.

Practice Areas

Mr. DePauw’s practice primarily focuses on appeals and dispositive motion practice in medical malpractice cases, but he also has experience in a wide variety of practice areas, including products liability, premises liability, commercial litigation, civil rights, administrative law, and regulatory compliance.
