John J. Moran concentrates his practice on the defense of physicians, health care professionals, medical practice groups, hospitals and nursing homes in medical malpractice, general liability and other actions.

He has successfully tried cases to juries, handled Daubert hearings and arbitrated matters throughout Michigan. He also provides counsel to physicians, large medical practice groups and institutions in various aspects of risk management and other legal matters.  John also frequently presents on issues in medical malpractice to physicians and medical institutions.  He has also arbitrated and tried various domestic relations and medical practice dissolution actions during his career.

John is AV or Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell, has been recognized as Michigan Super Lawyer in medical malpractice defense every year since 2010 and has been designated a DBusiness Top Lawyer and Leading Lawyer several times.

He earned his law degree from The Dickinson School of Law at The Pennsylvania State University and his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. While at Dickinson, he was a member of the Appellate Moot Court Board and Articles Editor of The Dickinson Journal of International Law.
